WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT THE UPLIFTING CHARITY AWARDS

Following a nationwide search to find the top animal charity teams, employees and volunteers, Petplan, the UK’s largest pet insurance provider and its sister brand, specialist horse insurer Petplan Equine have announced the winners of the Petplan and Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Animal Charity Awards in an uplifting ceremony held at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) on Wednesday 22 April.

In their third year, the Awards celebrate the outstanding work, dedication and commitment of animal charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands. Not only do they provide an opportunity to congratulate the organisations, but also the many individuals who go above and beyond in their mission to improve animal welfare.

Petplan’s Head of Marketing, Isabella von Mesterhazy, comments: “The Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards create a fantastic way for us to support and recognise the teams and individuals at charities who are dedicated to improving the lives of animals. This year we received more than 5,000 nominations from adopters, supporters, charity staff and volunteers, so it’s a huge honour to announce the winners. All those who were nominated should feel incredibly proud of their achievements, the result of their tireless work to ensure the wellbeing of animals in their care. The winners are shining examples of those who continually strive to do more for animals every single day and we are delighted to congratulate them on their awards.”

The winners for each of the categories are:

Animal Charity Employee of the Year

Theresa Lovegrove, Blue Cross – Lewknor

Animal Charity Team of the Year

K9 Focus Dog Rescue

Animal Charity Volunteer of the Year

Ben Wilkes, Border Collie Trust GB

Each winner also received £1,500 from the Petplan Charitable Trust to put to good use within their animal charity. For further information on the winners and finalists please go to www.petplanequine.co.uk/charityawards.
